Settings for POP3 or IMAP Access to Exchange Online

This article provides the necessary settings for accessing Exchange Online via POP3 or IMAP protocols.

IMAP Settings

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):

• Server: outlook.office365.com
• Port: 993
• Encryption: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):

• Server: smtp.office365.com
• Port: 587
• Encryption: STARTTLS

POP3 Settings

Incoming Mail Server (POP3):

• Server: outlook.office365.com
• Port: 995
• Encryption: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):

• Server: smtp.office365.com
• Port: 587
• Encryption: STARTTLS

Authentication

• Username: Your full email address
• Password: Your Exchange Online password
• Authentication: Modern Authentication (OAuth2) recommended

Important Notes

• POP3 only downloads emails, doesn't sync calendars/contacts
• IMAP provides better synchronization across devices
• Modern Authentication provides enhanced security
